The 19th Medtec China edition will take place at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center this month, a major event for Asia’s medical devices ecosystem. R&D leaders, design engineers, and regulatory specialists will gather to explore advanced materials, components, and lifesaving manufacturing solutions that will shape the future of healthcare.
The event, scheduled for three days starting on 24 September, will combine a large exhibition area with an extensive programme of technical forums and keynote presentations. On the exhibition floor, visitors will find almost 1,000 suppliers and contract manufacturers showcasing everything from raw materials to precision components, tubing, wire-based solutions, processing equipment, packaging, sterilisation, and contract manufacturing services.
One focus area will be on building resilient, flexible, and efficient supply chains in the wake of a more fractious global landscape. Strategies such as dual-sourcing and localisation, as well as the use of digital technologies to manage risks, reduce lead times, and ensure compliance will be in the spotlight.
Forums include Material Innovation and Application Boosters, which will explore the latest advances in alloys, polymers, and coatings, and the 8th Conference of ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø Design, which will focus on user-centred development in an age of AI and risk management. Developments in plastic moulding, 3D printing and rehabilitation device innovation will also be topics
Alleima at Medtec China 2025
Among the global companies confirmed to showcase at this year’s event is Alleima, a Swedish industry leader in high-performance materials, complex wire-based solutions, laser and nitinol processing, which are critical for designing and developing surgical, diagnostic and therapeutic devices used in precision medicine.
Alleima’s medical engineers work with the most prominent medical device OEMs to aid in the design and development of complex wire-based components for devices such as pacemakers, cochlear implants, neurostimulators, a variety of ablation catheters – including pulsed field ablation catheters – and advanced guidewires.
Alleima’s advanced capabilities and solutions are integral to creating the flexible instruments used in robotic surgeries that will withstand the rigorous demands of medical procedures.
“Medtec China, the largest medical device design and manufacturing exhibition in China, serves as a vital gateway to the country’s rapidly expanding medical device market—especially for companies looking to establish or strengthen their local presence.
Since 2019, I have participated in this event to support and drive the growth of Alleima’s medical wire-based business. Over the years, this platform has highlighted our progress and reinforced our commitment to the Chinese market.
Looking ahead to 2025, we are fully prepared to empower our local customers with innovative one-stop-shop solutions and expanded global in-house processing capabilities, reaffirming our long-term dedication to this dynamic and promising market,†says Di Meng, Sales Region Manager APAC.
